This was one of the best books that Sue Grafton has written. The main character Kinsey Millhone, PI tries to do a favor for her landlord Henry and ends up traveling across country following some very dangerous people who try to kill her. It is exciting, funny, interesting and easy to read.

Kinsey Millhone is a great character. Light reading at its best. I'm a man and have no trouble reading this lady detective stuff.

Featuring Kinsey Millhone, P.I., the star of the "alphabet novels".

"L is for Lawless" wasn't my all-time favorite Sue Grafton novel, but it was good and I liked the little twist at the end. Really enjoying this series!

L is for Lawless is one of the better Grafton books I have read!! Starting with a records check, Kinsey Millhone takes off into a case revealing a decades old bank heist and the battle between heist partners and estranged offspring!
Plenty of action, believable characters and Grafton's patented sense of "order gone awry".
She is very consistent in this theme but it never gets stale, she usually starts with what seems a simple open and shut case and she is very good at stretching the envelope to create the utmost screwed up excitement!! And, with alphabet series, you don't even have to go in order!

As usual I enjoyed Kinsey trying to solve the mystery. Feel like I really know her now since I am up to L in her alphabet series. It's a good read.

This one is definitely funnier than the rest, with Kinsey ending up in hot water because she just can't leave well enough alone. Granted it's been a long time since I read them last, but it still surprises me that I didn't remember Kinsey as being such a smart-aleck and a risk-taker. I quite like that about her. I am more surprised that she's still kind of naive, I would expect a PI to be more suspicious about the stories she's told. Nice fast read, I finished it in a day.
