An Orthodox, vegetarian Jew goes on a Peace Corps mission to one of China's lesser known provinces, Guiyang, where he teaches English at a university. Along the way he encounters a completely different lifestyle than anyone could expect, and has to re-learn a lot of things himself, including bathroom habits, playing basketball, and what's for dinner. I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked this up, but I found it quite enjoyable and read it inside of two days. I learned more than a few things about life in China myself.

Written with humor and empathy, the author tells his story about his 2 years as a Peace Corps volunteer in China.
