Very emotional story from first page to the last. Conor will suffer a whole lot over 6 years of them before she will have her closure. She will hurt, cry, break, bitter and become someone else to get through life. Jake is just a dominant powerhouse to get the ending he wants and if he has to tear the heart of his true love and shatter her just to keep her safe he would. No matter what he does, he justifys it to protecting the women he unconditionally loves.
If you have triggers then you might want to pass this story. Second chapter will show Conor's rape, as a 16 year old virgin being raped by men that had other orders to exicute that night. Jake was 16 going on 17 and Conor was just turned q6 when they planned to lose their virginity to each other that night, he had her wrists bound and tied to a tree (he was dipping into the dark of bondage and he wanted to bring his girlfriend into his journey of it) but before they would have their firsts two men came with guns and their brothers were held at gun point. Jake watched zconor as she was raped, he was hogtied with a gag and watch the whole thing. That night he became the harden man he will grow up to be. That night Conor lost her brother for 10 years and a few days later she will lose her world. Her home, her horse, her friends, her father and Jake.
Her father did things he would have never did and moving to Chicago, living in the bottle, denying he has a son and him taking his hate out on his daughter, Conor lives 2 years of abuse with bruises, broken bones and a father that hates her. When she was 18 she ran back home to Oklahoma, the ranch, her horse and Jake, she wrote to Jake and his twin all the time, called, texted and never received a response, the time she came home to the ranch she was happy until finding Jake in his bed with a fellow classmate, her heart finally shattered and was so broken she vowed never again, she was unloved, forgotten and damaged.
She got her dream college worked her butt through with perfect grades and close to completion when the blood pact reminded her that the man she put behind bars will be released and she will see him taken down and that pet of her life buried.
How's back to her beloved but hated town to wait for the rapist to come but Conor was hoping to get through her couple of weeks without seeing the only man she loved that destroyed her, Jake.
Jake has years to learn about Conor's PTSD and find ways to get her past her triggers he learned when he bacame a man of mystery when Conor was 19 and at a party, he had his work cut out for him to help Conor over come her triggers from that night and from her father, but he also has the Professor the so called boyfriend of Conor's to get out of the way, dealing with Conor's anger, her hurt and what she hides away. Conor has questions that she needs the answers to, 6 years of questions and Jake has the answers it if she wants them she has to submit to his demands.
Jake has years to find out what really happened that night that changed their lives and what he found out from the dirty sheriff, Conor's brother Lorne through the drunk of their father's confessions to what Jake over heard from his dad, paperwork of truth from Conor's mother, the threats, debt, hit men and soo much more. He has 2 weeks to gains Conor's trust, help her past her PTSD, give her the truth, and make her fall back in love with him if she would after learning about his âmistakes' a whole town of them... can he succeed or will it all blow up in his face and Conor leaves for good....
