I was highly disappointed in this book. It reads as fiction and the author should have put it in the fiction genre because she should be embarassed to admit most of what she says.
I don't find it very "hip" to smoke throughout your pregnancy, schedule a c-section BEFORE your due date because that's what is convenient for everyone, not breastfeeding, referring to baby items as "baby crap", taking 4 months of maternity leave but hiring a FULL TIME nanny. Give me a break! I feel bad for that child because her mother is a child as well.

I was expecting a modern woman's perspective on pregnancy and that was not exactly what I got. This book is about a woman who seems entirely ill-prepared for any aspect of pregnancy and spends most of her trying to avoid the fact that she is in fact pregnant. She's clueless and she knows it (aren't most new moms?) but instead of taking time to learn about how to raise a baby and what to expect (i.e. taking a childbirth class) she chooses to try and ignore the fact that she's pregnant at all. She comes across as very selfish. I was highly disappointed.

Quick, fun read. As a fellow pregnant women, I didn't care for the casual approach to serious decisions such as smoking while pregnant, elective c-sections and breastfeeding. I was probably just taking the book a little too seriously. It's a typical chic-lit and good for a little break.

I really wish this would have been a work of fiction because it would have been easier to take. The book reads like fiction, and would have been a lot lighter and funnier if it was. The author is not a "hip mother-to-be". She is an idiot.

Only about halfway through - enjoyable, but even though it is in diary format, she doesn't really let you in on what she's thinking. Everything seems hurried and if there's anything that pregnancy is, it isn't hurried!
