I loved the first book, thought the second was good, but this is just boring and not nearly as interesting as the others, there will not be a fourth book for me, it will be a waste of my time, don't worry if you don't get a copy of this one, it just misses this mark for me.

This is the third book in Kate Jacob's Friday Night Knitting Club series. Although it doesn't have the same magic as the first book, I believe I liked it a bit better than the second book, Knit Two. This story focuses mostly on Dakota and the challenges she faces as she's in college on the border of childhood and adulthood. She has an opportunity to have a winter internship in a prestigious hotel's kitchen, but will she sacrifice a trip her dad's been planning to Scotland to take her and her mother's family to visit Gran? Anita's wedding to Marty keeps getting postponed due to shenanigans from her son Nathan, will they finally tie the knot? Catherine needs to reconcile her feelings for Marco, the Italian winemaker she met in the second book. Peri needs to decide if being part owner of Walker & Daughter is worth giving up her dreams to put Peri's Pocketbook on the map. The backdrop of the story is the holiday season between Thanksgiving and New Year's, which I think helped the book keep a decent pace because it had a built-in time frame. It is a VERY quick read, which I think helped me enjoy this story more than Knit Two since this one didn't suffer from getting bogged down, though I didn't like how this one spent most of the time on really just on Dakota. As with the second book though, I felt that this one short-changed some of the characters, KC in particular who isn't really there at all except to whine a few times. I would have preferred a longer book that spread out the focuses as equally as possible on the other club members. Still, it was nice to catch up with these characters, and if there is a fourth book, I'll be happy to read it!

The Third in the Knitting Series, I'll admit not the best. Very silly and different from the first two novels but still worth reading as the story comes to a close. Kate Jacobs brings the saga to end just the way I would have and would not have expected. There are many surprises done very well. Jacobs really knows how to write and knows each of the characters as if they are her own friends. Definitely read this today!
Cute story about the holidays and friendship among women. I did not enjoy this one as much as the first two in this series, however. Seemed less cohesive than the first two.

I really enjoyed this book. Just like I enjoyed the other two. It was nice to see the book come full circle and come to a good conclusion.
She did well with the story continuing and adding new life changes to all characters. She kept the suspense going to the end!
There are no surprises in this book and some parts of the ending are pretty predictable. It's a quick easy read. That being said, it's worth picking up--the characters are familiar to us so it's like catching up with friends. The major thread that runs through the story is one of change. It's one that we all deal with--it's scary but a fact of life. This is definitely a feel good book.
I resisted the Friday Night Knitting Club Series by Kate Jacobs for awhile - it's commercial popularity made me suspect. This is crazy really - if lots of people like a book, that should be a good thing, right? Usually I follow this logic but every so often I run completely counter to it - I am embarrassed to say that is what happened with this series. However, I was finally won over by an enthusiastic friend and quickly devoured The Friday Night Knitting Club and Knit Two. At the end of both books, I was bereft at the thought of not sharing time with the characters anymore.
So . . . I was thrilled when I saw Knit the Season arrive at bookstores - what a great combination, the holidays and the Knitting Club Series! The book picks up about 1 year after Knit Two and just before the holidays. Dakota's Dad has planned a family trip for the entire Walker Clan to Scotland to see Georgia's Gran and Anita is finally planning her wedding to Marty. Much of the action centers on Dakota with the other favorites (Catherine, Peri, Darwin etc) featuring more at the periphery than the center. This book is a bit shorter than the previous two so there is not as much time for character development - you get glimpses of the other characters but very little depth. If I had one criticism of the book, this is it. Because I so enjoy all the characters, it is a disappointment to get so little of each one.
With that said, the book is still thoroughly enjoyable and you feel as if you have slipped back into an easy companionship with long lost friends. Almost makes me want to start knitting . . . ok, maybe I will stick to reading!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't overly winter holiday, but rather used the holidays as a setting.
One of the things I loved about this book was learning more about Georgia!
Some parts seemed a little, forced, well mostly the conversations, but overall a nice addition to the series.

This third book in the "Friday Night Knitting Club" series is rendered unreadable by an overpopulated cast, by Jacobs' insistence on recapping every twist and turn of each character's life from their introduction in the first book to the present moment, and by an insistence on packing every sentence with TMI -- "tugging onto her hands a pair of purple fingerless gloves that she'd made during her commutes on the Metro-North train to the city from culinary school in Hyde Park". Overall, it just feels very amateurish.
Enjoyed this visit back to what feels like old friends, but was disappointed that this book focuses so much on Dakota, with peripheral updates on the other ladies. I am wondering where the series can go from here, though.
Definitely the best of The Friday Night Knitting Club books! Uplifting and heartwarming and thoroughly enjoyable.
I enjoyed this third installment of the FNKC series. I like the path most of the characters are on, however, I thought the review of specifics from first two books to be tedious. I think author could have had more faith that her readers were up to date on characters. I liked the "new" flashbacks and look forward to a next book if there will be one. Appreciate the knitting patterns and recipes in this book. Nice for book clubs to either make treats or have a knit-along.
The first book was the best in the series. I found the second book dull, but this third book was more enjoyable. It was a very quick read.
Pretty good. Also has recipe for Butter Tarts in the back.

great! it was a wonderful continuation of my fav characters' story. i love hoe catherines life turns out. it gives me hope. i cant wait for another additon to the Knit Club family!
Reading this book was like a reunion with old friends. I am always eager to see what these ladies are up to, and Kate Jacobs did not disappoint with the third installment of the series.

The third in this series and a good continuation of all the main characters stories. None of them are perfect and that's one of the reasons I like this series. Was a nice set-up for another installment if that's what the author has in mind. I liked it.
