A great second book! The first was a bit rough around the edges, but this one has ironed out the kinks. Well developed characters, tight plotting and an ending I really wasn't expecting.

A terrific read! I liked this one even better than Kitty and the Midnight Hour, the first in the series.

Kitty runs a late-night talk radio show called The Midnight Hour. Up until now, many humans still believe her show is some kind of spoof; they simply can't bring themselves to believe supernatural creatures like vampires, werewolves, and other shapeshifters actually exist. However, having become somewhat of a celebrity now, and kind of a resident expert, Kitty's called upon by the Senate to testify at a hearing which would bring the supernaturals to light and be legally recognized by the government

But her trip to D.C. has brought her face-to-face with a number of other interesting characters, some of them seeming quite friendly, like a über-hot Brazilian were-jaguar *roaw* and the vampire mistress of the city, and others not quite so. And as a dirty politician and a sketchy doctor set her up to take a major fall, help comes from unexpected places.

But this is Kitty! As much as she'd normally like to stay in the background, and her wolf rather hide than fight, her determination not to pushed around anymore gives her the strength to overcome anything which comes her way! Kitty is definitely a friend every girl would love to have: a soft lovable side, combined with a strong and determined determined tough side. I eagerly await the next in the series!

I enjoyed this second book in the Kitty Norville series. I especially liked how Kitty learned about the other were-creatures in Washington, DC and how she learned that she could count on Alette, the vampire queen. I look forward to reading the next book in the series, Kitty Takes a Holiday.

The second book in the series - even better than the first. Includes a short story, "Kitty Meets the Band."

In Kitty Goes to Washington, Kitty Norville heads to DC to testify before a senate committee regarding werewolves, vampires and other "diseased" citizens. While there, she encounters the vampire queen of the city, a group of pack-less werewolves, and a scientist with questionable ethics.

I did not enjoy this book as much as Kitty and the Midnight Hour because the first half of the book was slooooow. The story picks up considerably during the second half of the book however, and is written in Kitty's same humorous voice, so is worth reading if you are a fan of the series.

This is the second book in the Kitty Norville series by Carrie Vaughn. I thought the first book was okay; this book is a little bit better than okay but I didn't think it was anything extraordinary.

In this book Kitty is called to testify in front of a government committee about being a werewolf and the affect of supernaturals on society. A lot of the book is spent at the committee hearing and reading about how nervous Kitty is to testify. The pieces of the plot that were hinted at in the first book are filled out and somewhat resolved in this book; what is Flemming working on and what is the reverend that says he can cure vampires and werewolves really doing?

I felt like the author did a better job of developing Kitty's character in this book. I also enjoyed some of the side characters; mainly her lawyer and the bounty hunter. In parts this book was more interesting than the first book because you learn more about the supernatural community. I thought the pacing in this book could have used some help though. I thought the middle of the book was really drawn out and went on forever; then the last portion of the book was non-stop action.

This was a quick read. If you liked the first book you would like this book. Personally I still think that this series is too much like other series I have read. So far this book deals with similar issues to those brought up in Anita Blake (early on), Rachel Morgan series, and even the Mercy Thompson series. I also think that this series doesn't have as good of a storyline or character development as the Rachel Morgan series does or as good as the Sookie Stackhouse series.

Overall this book was okay, nothing special. If you are out of paranormal stuff to read you would probably find this book to be a quick and mildly entertaining read. I already have the next two books in the series so I will read those. After that, well I'll re-evaluate and see if I want to keep reading this series.

It's been a little while since the events in book one, and Kitty has been touring the United States, driving from one radio station to the next to host her radio talk show about the supernatural, The Midnight Hour. On the way to California, Kitty receives a call from her lawyer, Ben O'Farrell, who gives her the news that she's been subpoenaed by the Senate on a hearing about paranormal affairs. Kitty is apprehensive, but she wants to avoid a witch hunt against shape shifters and vampires, so she goes.

Less dark to me than the first book but still gritty, and an enjoyable continuation of the series. There is strong world-building - the supernatural aspects are explained artlessly, without info-dumping. When Kitty learns something new, it doesn't feel like it's only to progress the plot, but to develop the world further, and I found the description of the world very realistic. The book was a quick read, and pacing was good, particularly the last third of the book, when I was so caught up with what was happening, I stayed up till 1am to finish it! Extra bonus: the short story Kitty Meets the Band at the end of this book.

Kitty has matured some and while getting the hell out of Denver, she has become more of her own person(wolf). This was a great 2nd book in the series. There is so much going on you won't want to lay this book down for a second. It's fascinating seeing Kitty realize that she can make it on her own and watching her become a kiss ass crusader. I loved this series so much, I immediately started the next in the series even though it was the wee hours of the night.

Like the first book, Kitty and the Midnight Hour, this is a fast, fun read. It seems likeable enough, but for some reason, Kitty just doesn't click with me, so while I intend to read the series, they aren't keepers for me.

This is the 2nd in the series about the late-night radio host and werewolf, Kitty Norville. If you like Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series I think you will also like these books, although, of course, they are a bit different.

Continuing the adventures of Kitty in a worthy second story.

Kitty goes to DC and meets others in her unique position and finds out what the government is (or isn't) doing about the fact that werewolves, vampires, etc. actually exist.

Want to see where she goes next.

This was an interesting addition to Kitty's story. Wonderful yet horrible developments that hit a few truths that are so close to home. Not specifically since I'm not a vampire/werewolf but a lot of the judgements made have been applied to other groups and it just shows the absolute worst of human nature. However Kitty being the morally upstanding heroine that she is handles it all with a sort of nervous grace that makes us love her even more. I'm fascinated with her relationships with Ben and Cormick and Luis, can't wait to see how these unfurl in the future. 4 Stars

2nd in the series. Enjoyable, enough action and humor to make it a quick read.

Kitty learns more about her attorney, is outed (in a most graphic manner) to her family, and gets to play with vampires and other things that go bump in the night.

The bit about the faith healer seemed pretty thin, with an anti-climactic climax.

After finishing this book, I immediately ordered the remaining two in the series.

Yet another twist to the female-wearwolf tale. This is the second book in the series that started with Kitty and the Midnight hour. This tough but irreverent character is called to Washington to speak before a panel as the only werewolf that has come out of the closet. The dialogue is witty, and the plot character-driven. A good, quick read.

The country's only celebrity werewolf, late-night radio host Kitty Norville prefers to be heard, not seen. But when she's invited to testify at a Senate hearing on behalf of supernaturals, her face gets plastered on national TV. Kitty's been in hot water before, but jumping into the D.C. underworld brings a new set of problems.

And a new set of friends and enemies, including the vampire mistress of the city; an über-hot Brazilian were-jaguar; and a paranoid, Bible-thumping senator who wants to expose Kitty as a monster. Kitty quickly learns that in this city of dirty politicians and backstabbing pundits, everyone's itching for a fight.

In Kitty and the Midnight Hour, Female werewolf and late night DJ Kitty Norville played a huge role in exposing the supernatural community to the outside world. In Kitty Goes to Washington, she has to deal with the consequences. Kitty is asked to appear in Washington DC to answer questions and solve any misgivings people have about supernaturals. Things, of course, don't go smoothly at all. Kitty has to deal with cult-leaders, ultra-conservative polititians, mysterious scientists, and the politics of supernatural community in Washington DC. Can Kitty come out of this situation with both her life and dignity?

Urban fantasy. Midnight talk show host, Kitty Norville, interviews and takes calls from and about the supernatural. Not only has Kitty's show outed vampires and weres, but an NIH research scientist has gone public with his studies of these "infected" people. Of course, the government has to get into it, so Kitty goes to Washington, subpoenaed to testify at a Senate Hearing on Paranormals. She, and we, are in for a wild ride.

If you like urban fantasy, you'll like Vaughn's fresh take on the whole "supernatural beings coming out of the closet" theme that these series usually tackle in one way or another. Also unlike many of these series, it's pretty funny. The portraits of the characters that Kitty encounters while testifying before a senate committee are well drawn. The mystery of the reverend (first seen in Bk 1) is also revealed!

Someone named Kitty as a werewolf? What crazy karma. But I've read this twice and thoroughly enjoyed it. She finds a love interest, and helps out the head vampire of Washington, DC. If you've read any other books of Carrie Vaughn's, come and read this one as well.

This book is in great condition, except for a bend in the front cover. It arrived this way from a PBS exchange. Looked like the package it came in was inspected at the PO. Not too bad looking though. Just want anyone interested to know ahead of time.
