This is a cute, well-written story. Humorous, light and entertaining.
The storyline best answers the question: Is the life Claire has settled for the one she really wants? Which one will she choose in the end?
There is a spattering of French words interspersed throughout the book, but don't let them bog you down. The author does a great job of working them in so that you know completely what they mean. And the French language only adds charming flavor to Adrien's character. A Frenchman DOES speak French, after all.
This is a fun read with an intriguing back-story of an old lady, Mademoiselle, who for all intents and purposes, becomes Claire's mentor post-obit.

This book only rates an "ok" with me. I will say that it was well written and interesting. However, it wasn't so amazing as to captivate me. Several times, I found myself setting this book aside and not picking it up again for several weeks. I got a little more into it after the second half. The ending left me thinking, "That's it?!". I would have enjoyed the book continuing on - or atleast offering a final chapter set in the future. I would recommend it when you want some light reading where there is the possibility to be interrupted.

This was such a fun read! I loved the way she had to deal with her feelings on a flawed relative, her self-image, and the guy back home. Ms. Mitchell treated them all with compassion, but still makes the character confront the issues. Nicely done!
