Lily Mansfield is a contract killer for the CIA, 37 years old, with 19 years of experience. She is also a grieving parent whose 13-year-old, adopted daughter has recently been killed, along with her foster parents who were Lily's best friends. Lily has set out to kill the man who ordered the hit on Zia and her foster parents, and to wreck as much havoc as she can on his organization. She is doing this without the CIA's sanction; in fact, they have sent one of their top agents, Lucas Swain, to stop her.
Sound grim? It isn't. Lucas Swain is not only an alpha hunk, he is also one funny guy. I found myself chuckling at Swain's opinions and actions, whether it was his thoughts on "chick food" or his views on Fiats. (He hates 'em.) The man went through more cars than Stephanie Plum.

I haven't read anything by Linda Howard in a long time, but I'm so glad I got reacquainted with this story. Suspenseful plot, excellent characters, great story. I'm looking forward to catching up on all the Howard books I've missed over the years.

Linda Howard's Kiss Me While I Sleep reads like an updated Helen MacInne's novel. I loved it!
Very interesting book. Enjoyed the characters and the twist at the end.
If you enjoy reading romantic thrillers, you will love this book. I have read several books by Linda Howard (not nearly all) and this one is my favorite. The suspense is great, keeping you turning the pages and it has a really surprising ending.
This is about a female contract assasin and how someone is out to gun her down. Very good story line, characters strong and developed.

She is also working all alone with no one to help her with her plan. Lucas Swain is not your usual dark brooding CIA operative. This guy has a sense of humor and loves fast cars. It was a refreshing change. The story has some good twists. Your never sure when the bad guys are going to pop up in the book or how our heroine is going to get away. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

Another good suspense novel from Linda Howard. The main character is well drawn, believable and sympathetic, the hero is sexy and humorous, and the situation is tense and credible. Contains very strong sexuality, as in all of her books.

To me, this was not the typical Linda Howard I usually see and read
but after the foreign character introductions, i got into the story.

Wow! What a book! If you're looking for the title in this one you won't have to guess. I have to admit when I read the line tears went streaming down my face. This is my first full length Linda Howard book and I'm a fan, now.
Not my favorite Linda Howard book - the CIA agent in this book is so goofy at times that you want to bonk him on the head. The heroine was a very strong character - a CIA contract agent bent on revenge that starts killing CIA resources/sources. He just came off years of deep cover work in South America and is assigned to neutralize her. Was a bit inconsistent that he would have such expensive tastes and fit in with the European locale after working in the opposite side of the world. This book takes place after the one with Frank Vinay and John Medina with the weapons dealers. In this novel, they are trying to prevent dangerous germs falling in the wrong hands. Has some issues dealing with grief, relating to children that didn't fit in with their dangerous careers.

A great read. Close friends of Lily (assassin for CIA) are killed and she goes after the killers one at a time. She is great in her changes of disguise, meets up with a fellow assassin, whom she doesn't know is hired to kill her. They are attrached to each other. She needs his help, not sure if she can trust him, and has been on the run since she killed a high powered man that the CIA was in close contact with.
