Two young good looking friends grow up together, train to kill vamps together, change into adults together.... then the female meets a young sexy man from the wrong family, who is everything she can't ignore. Her family and his arch enemies for decades...... who will she choose ? Sound familiar ? Well it is but thrown into the mix we have vampires, hunters and druids, all with interesting personalities and background stories. I found myself wanting to know more, needed more story, I liked these characters. this is the first book in the series and I think it will get even better as they develop. I will read the next one out in 2011.

I like the premise of Vampires in Tudor England. I also like how the author explains the Druids and the Vampire Slayers. Druids protect vampires and Christopher is one of them. Rosalind is a vampire hunter and has to join forces with Christopher in order to find out who is trying to kill Henry VIII and why. Of course the Druids and the Llewellyn's (Vampire Slayers) do not like each other. One is sworn to protect the vampires and the other to kill them. Christopher and Rosalind have chemistry and I like that Christopher was right to the point with her and was not one of those alpha males who take forever in the book to declare his love. I can't wait to read the next one.

Sometimes you don't know why you like a book, you just do. That was the case for "Kiss of the Rose". I enjoyed the book, the characters and the story line but there was no clear reason why I liked it. I know I suck at reviewing this book but I'm stumped.

Nice mix of history, vampires and Druids. A bit different from the usual. Likeable characters and a romance that has so many strikes against it it's heartbreaking.

Not the Kate Pearce I am used to. (Her Simply series is hot! with characters and plot) I like me some vampires, but this book was just so much talking. Yammer, schmammer.
