A great story with a unique plot. I enjoyed it a lot. It was a bit boring the first chapter or two but after that I couldn't put it down! I know it's a series but this is the first one I have read. I WILL be reading the rest of them.

On a sight-seeing trip of Scotland, Gwen Cassidy accidentally falls into an underground cavern and lands on top of a man. Put under a spell by witches, Drustan MacKeltar has been sleeping in a cave for over 500 years. When Gwen wakes him, he doesn't understand that time has passed....he only wants to go home. Drustan and Gwen travel to his castle, only to find it in ruins. Drustan decides he must use his druid spells to travel back to the 16th century in order to save his people from a terrible fate. The biggest problem is that when he and Gwen travel back to the past, he doesn't recognize her or remember their last few days together.
Loved the plot, loved the time-travel element, and loved the hero! This one is a keeper!
My rating: 5 Stars.

I've read the series in order and have enjoyed all of them. But some books you remember better than others and I believe this will be one of those for me. It really wasn't predictable (for me anyways) and I was very happy with the way the author twisted the hero and heroine. Moning has a wonderful ability in creating characters that are so real and funny. I haven't been disappointed in any of her books - I always wonder why I leave them on my TBR list so long.
Even though this is the 4th book in the series, you could read this book without having ready any of the prior 3.

This was a fantastic book. I couldn't put it down and read it in just a few hours. There is one scene involving the garderobe that nearly had me wetting myself I laughed so hard! An excellent book in a wonderful series.

I found this to be one of my favorite books. I read at least two books a week and have for years. I rarely change my favorite book, although I enjoy them all. This one however has gone right up to my favorite list. The characters are amazing, the story makes you believe in anything, and I suggest a box of tissues nearby when you near the end.

This is #4 and by far my favorite book in the Highlander series. I always feel the emotions of the characters in this author's books - this went beyond that. You feel not only the romantic tension, the love & longing - but also the frustration, loneliness, and determination in general.
There is romance, time travel, magic, and friendship in this book - the main characters - Drustan & Gwen - come to life and they feel real.
I highly recommend this book - and if you haven't tried out the series - try it - you won't be disappointed!

The absolute best book of the entire series. This book is up there with my holy grail of all books which is Gabaldon's *Outlander*. I was sucked in from the beginning. It made me laugh and cry. I couldn't put the book down. This is one of those books when you start reading that everything else goes untouched, you end up still in your jammies without your hair brushed or teeth brushed. Definitely READ this one!!! Keep up with the series, it makes the whole experience much better.

Gwen Cassidy has come to Scotland for a bit of adventure. While hiking, she falls into a crevice - right onto a sleeping Drustan MacKeltar. Only he has been sleeping for five centuries. How he reacts to modern times is quite entertaining. But they have to go back to sixteenth century Scotland to change 'the curse'. Highly entertaining, highly recommended.

Rife with unexpected plot twists, Druid lore and sparkling humor, Moning's latest time-travel romance (following The Highlander's Touch) returns to the Scottish Highlands for another romp between an ancient laird and a modern lass. Gwen Cassidy's hopes of finding a man crumble when she realizes that her much-anticipated tour of Scotland is a senior citizen expedition. Frustrated, Gwen decides to hike the breakneck hills of Loch Ness alone, and she ends up falling down a ravine and awakening Drustan MacKeltar, a Scottish lord who has been slumbering for 500 years under a gypsy's spell. Although Drustan is bewildered by the modern century, he is not puzzled by his feelings for Gwen. Her passionate heart and brilliant mind intrigue him, and he enlists her aid to return to the 16th century. Once back in Drustan's time, their struggle to save his people alters history and results in a surprising denouement. There's much that's fun here, both in characters and situations, but detail-oriented readers may be distracted by the novel's many anachronisms: for example, Gwen has coffee in bed in 1518 even though coffee wasn't available in England until the 17th century. Nevertheless, Moning's snappy prose, quick wit and charismatic characters will enchant. (Sept. 11)Forecast: Morning has just three titles under her belt, but her fan base is growing steadily. This paranormal, time-travel romantic comedy will appeal to Donna Kauffman aficionados as well as readers who enjoy mixed-genre romances

I did enjoy the book. I had already read books in the Fever Series. It was interesting to read about other members of the MacKelter famliy. I did not expect time travel to be part of the story. I liked how Drustan was willing to take a chance to sleep for centuries and hope that he would arrive in Gwen's time. I look forward to reading more books in this series.
