Good follow-up to The Dragon's Path. Dawson makes a really, really stupid decision and it felt very abrupt to me, so I'm not sure I bought that scenario. He kind of grew on me in this second book, because in his way he's honorable. I like Cithrin, impulsive though she is, and I bet that's going to get her in some trouble. Marcus didn't do a lot here and just as with Dawson, I couldn't really buy into his impulsive action, although I did find the whole thing kind of amusing. Geder is becoming nicely sociopathic. I am wondering exactly what the world looks like if the spider priests get their way - does no one tell lies? Is everyone equipped with spidey-sense? What do the spider bites do to you, exactly? Maybe we'll find out later. Anyway, nice world-building, good dialogue, looking forward to the next.
