If you are at all familiar with Ed Greenwood's writing, then you will not be disappointed with this addition to his many works. While not set in the D&D Forgotten Realms as many of his books are (not surprising, as he is the creator of that HIGHLY successful world), I enjoyed this new world immensely.
What starts as an attempt to rob the indolent daughter of a rich and ruthlessly brutal lord snowballs into a desperate quest to awaken the rightful king of the land and secure him on the throne in time to unite realm and save it from a looming threat.

Pretty standard sword-and-sorcery stuff. First in a series. It'll never be a classic, but it was entertaining.
