Edge of the seat, couldn't put down! Lieutenant Eve Dallas never disappoints me. Such a great mystery plus the wonderful romance of a happily married although not in any way ordinary couple. I want a fabulously wealthy husband who drops everything to be by MY side. LOL

I have been reading this series from the beginning, and I think the one is the one I've enjoyed the most. Satisfying plot line and conclusion. Left me wanting the story to be longer.

"When the newly promoted captain of the NYPSD and his wife return a day early from their vacation, they were looking forward to spending time with their bright and vivacious sixteen-year-old daughter who had stayed behind.
Not even their worst nightmares could have prepared them for the crime scene that awaited them instead. Brutally murdered in her bedroom, Deena's body showed signs of trauma that horrified even the toughest of cops; including our own Lieutenant Eve Dallas, who was specifically requested by the captain to investigate.
When the evidence starts to pile up, Dallas and her team think they are about to arrest their perpetrator; little do they know yet that someone has gone to great lengths to tease and taunt them by using a variety of identities. Overconfidence can lead to careless mistakes. But for Dallas, one mistake might be all she needs to bring justice."

As Mavis & Peabody would say, "It's mag, simply frosty." As always Robb, has come through for us and offered what no other writer can offer, a throughly Eve Dallas novel. The excitement, the action, and the total horror that comes through will keep you reading nonstop, totally unable to lay the book down. The twists and turns of the murders leaves you marveling that anyone could figure out who the murder was. I have had this book in my hands for two months and resisted starting it. Why? Because the "Fantasy in Death" book won't be out for two more weeks. I actually had all but the last 50 pages read two days ago and worked on my income tax just so I wouldn't pick up this book and finish it. I just couldn't bear to see it end. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I missed the humor that is there when Eve interacts with characters other than those at NYPSD. I missed the interaction with Peabody and McNab, they are always good for a couple of chuckles. Part of the draw to this series for me has always been the subtle humor and snarky remarks that Eve tosses out to those around her. There were only a few Summerset encounters and none with Mavis and Trina until the last couple of pages. But I only have to wait 12 more days and I'll have another gem to hold on to and try to make it last more a day.

As usual Eve Dallas solves the crime. The story is exciting and keeps you thinking. I love pitting my investigative powers against Lt. Dallas. A very enjoyable read.

What appears to start out as a random brutal crime quickly turns into a web of revenge and horror as a brutal killer is systematically killing the loved ones of people he blames for ruining his life. With the impending nuptials of Louise and Charles and Eves near panic at the thought of her matron of honor duties, she has very little time to find the killer but our Eve would much rather get bloody and chase down a killer than be subjected to the rituals of marriage and being within 100 miles of Trina and her devices of female torture.

As always, I loved this book and cant get enough of Eve, Roark and the gang. However, I was expecting a more intense takedown of the subject. As usual, it played out flawlessly, but with the level of brutality the killer demonstrates, I expected him to go down fighting. Perhaps the author didnt want her beaten and bloodied right before the wedding. Even so, Eve does get her hands dirty a few times and takes a few hits for the team. Not enough snark with Summerset this go around, but these two pace themselves beautifully and dont disappoint when they do take the gloves off. I love how Peabody is developing as a character. Shes really coming into her own as a detective and with Eves mentoring, she will be a force to be reckoned with. What can I say about Roark that hasnt been said a million times already? As Peabody and Mavis would say, hes mag. I always enjoy seeing him getting to use his computer geek skills working with Feeney and McNab to assist Eve.

With 29 books in the series and no indication of slowing down, I am excited to see what Eve and the gang gets into next.

I just cannot say enough good things about this series. Eve Dallas is a great heroine with such a tortured past that it is amazing how she deals with the ugliness being a cop brings into her life on a daily basis. And don't get me started on Roarke. Yummy cubed! I listened to the audio on this one and just love the added pleasure of Roarke's Irish lilt which greatly enhanced this already spectacular story. I love how Dallas doesn't give up and doesn't give quarter to any of the bastards she hunts down.

If you're a mystery lover and haven't yet read anything in this series, you are so missing out. This futuristic mystery series takes place in New York City (first book in 2058) with cool technology and cooler gadgets.

Another solid Eve Dallas story! Like most of the others, Kindred had me laughing at parts and completely enthralled in the story. But this one also had me tearing up. It's possible that Kindred may have been the most emotional one of the series for me. I can't wait to see what is coming next!

I absolutely LOVE J D Robb books; have read everyone more than once; I await anxiously for every new book. This last one was a disappointment though. I don't know if I can describe it, but there was definitely something missing. Not enough substance, maybe. and not the humor that is usually there. I love all of the characters; they have become almost like family. It felt like Nora Roberts was writing just to write; just a filler. I still can't wait for the next one. Maybe this was just a fluke.

Nora Roberts is by far my very favorite author. Once I pick up one of her J.D.Robb novels I cannot put it down. I generally read it cover to cover. Fortunately I have been able to read them in the order they were published which, to me, is the utmost in reading!!
