Chip Becker, a high school sophomore, has a close relationship with his single-parent mother, Anne. He's protective of Anne, an artist, and enjoys taking charge of the daily responsibilities. But that closeness is destroyed when Anne becomes pregnant and won't reveal a word about the father. Chip is furious with her for going through with the pregnancy and at odds with his girlfirend Jeannie who takes Anne's side. How can Chip possible share his mother with a baby? And what will happen if the child's father finds out?
