Marvelous book, in true O'Reilly and Dugard fashion.
Awe inspiring. The book begins long before the birth of Jesus, just to give the reader a better perspective of how the people lived and how the government operated. Once Jesus entered the world the book tracked his life (based on written history of that era).
The book does get detailed and in parts gruesome, but this is necessary and not intended to offend. Not for the faint of heart to read.
Bill has written a children's version and I assume he has deleted the gory details.
Pick up a copy today, you won't be disappointed.

Awesome historical creation/biblical history of what happened in the coming days of Jesus's death. Very great book.

I really liked this book. It tells about Jesus through his life. I learned a lot about the politics of the time and also about the hiarchy of the Jewish priests. Of course this is a novel, but it has been well researched and there are a lot of footnotes, explaining certain names and places in the book. Also lots of maps and diagrams. I learned a lot from this book and I think anyone would enjoy reading it.

The book was surprisingly good, no incoming biases from the authors and not religous dogma either, just pure historical fact

I read this book before any of the other "killing" books, not that they are a series per say, but in saying that I had no idea what to expect. I found this to be an interesting book, it gave some new insight, but to me felt like a retelling of the bible in words that modern day individuals can better understand. I am not sure if that was the intent of the authors but it is how it was revealed to me. In saying that it was not a bad book, it definitely was interesting, but again there were things missing that I attribute to not being able to maintain the factual evidence of the retold stories. Overall if you have an interest in delving deeper into the story and separating researched fact from presumed fiction then pick up the book. If you are looking to find new things, things that have not been heard before, then move along...nothing to read here.

I am not a religious person so I was able to look at this as a history book. Very well done by O'Reilly as all his books are!

This is a very readable book. The authors chose to historically chronicle Jesus' life, not offer his life from a spiritual point of reference. I think it made the book very interesting. The authors also liberally sprinkled in the text lots of maps, artwork, and diagrams. This made for a more complete understanding of the printed word. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and could hardly put it aside.

I don't read much religious writing; few authors can maintain a point of view that offers a clear story without lots of sermonizing or seeming too in awe of the subject. I feel these two writers struck just the right note in this book. I look forward to reading some other books written by these two authors.
