Kimberly Quincy is an FBI rookie, training in Quantico. During an run one evening she stumbles across the dead body of a young woman. This death leads her into a cold case that a fellow trainee had been investigating while a police officer. Taking a leave from the academy Kimberly teams up with Mac McCormack, as well as her father and his girlfriend, highly qualified profilers, to try and prevent any more deaths.
Lots of death, mayhem, forensics, profiling and gore as well as high octane thrills, this book was an edge of the seat roller coaster ride, and very enjoyable if you like that kind of thing (I do).

this is by far my favorite lisa gardner book. this is one of the first books in a long time to suck me in and not let go!! the way she describes the heat made me break a sweat, literally!!!!!! made me want to read all of her books.

This book was terribly average. A serial killer who picks up two girl's at time leaves one dead as a map for investigators to find the other. Unfortunately, the other girl is always left in an isolated, treacherous location where she is forced to struggle to survive with only a bottle of water in the stifling heat while investigators attempt to locate her.

The book has a pretty good story line and keeps you interested, however it isn\'t a real page turner, at least not for me.

An interesting mystery!
The murder takes two victims each time he strikes. He wiats for the first to be discovered, her body containing clues to the second victim who is dying a slow but certain death. Rookie FBI agent Kimberly Quincy joins forces with her father, Pierce Quincy, a renowned FBI profiler to hunt for this dangerous preditor before another victim dies.
I was kept guessing to the end. A must read for all Gardner fans. The clock is now for you to start reading.

I like this series of books by Lisa Gardner. This one was a little slow at first but was suspense filled. You're rooting for the girls and some make it, some don't. Really good read. Ordering Bk 5 right now.

Thriller centering around the search for the victims of a serial killer who grabs his targets two at a time, killing one quickly and using her body to lead searchers on a race against time to find the other before her time runs out. The careful reader may be able to suss out a good portion of the puzzle before the end.
Rookie FBI Agent Kimberly Quincy joins her father to help look for a dangerous killer like none before. Very fast paced and enjoyable.
Just when you think you've figured it out, you find out you haven't...This one will keep you on the edge and guessing until the very end.

The storyline started a little slow. I thought to myself "too much extraneous information; what does this have to do with the plot?" Well, stick with it because the pace picks up & it's hard to put the book down. The characters are very well fleshed-out, unlike some books that I have read recently. Their motivations are understandable, & the characters are likeable, believable and sympathetic. You think you know the ending, but there's a twist or two in this plot. All in all, I really enjoyed the book.

Awesome book. Loved it. I couldn't stop reading once I picked it up. If you read the other books with Pierce/Rainie, you have to read this one. The main focus is Pierce's daughter Kimberly. It's a very quick read because it is so fast paced.
Just my kind of book, suspense, murders, finding the killer, FBI agents, some romance... don't know if I want to let you have it....

In concert with an equally dedicated (and attractive) Georgia law enforcement officer, her estranged father (a former FBI profiler), and a handful of forensics specialists, she pursues clues to solve a deadly game, the prize for which is a kidnapped young woman. The forensic detail is great, and Gardner works in some genuinely creepy moments, especially when she zeroes in on the victim struggling against horrific odds. A tighter focus and a trimmed-down cast of characters would have made the reading smoother, but that won't stop Gardner's fans.

This book was fantastic! Kept me on the edge of my seat and guessing until the very end. This is book four of the ongoing Quincy-Rainie series. In order the books are:

Another fun and easy read. It is a continuation of the Pierce/Rainie story with the added bonus of Pierce's daughter's story too. If you like to follow the lives of the main characters, then this one continues their story with a good mystery too.
This is an excellent continuation of the Quincy/Rainie series by Lisa Gardner. HOWEVER - it contains some spoilers for the story that is covered in Book 3 of the series, called "The Next Accident". I read this one first, and while I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the twists, the character development, it would have been so much more of a well-rounded experience if I had read "The Next Accident" first.
