The FBI approaches U.S. Attorney Jessica Yardley and asks for her help. They show her pictures of two couples who have been found murdered, their throats slit while they were sleeping. As soon as she looks at the pictures, Jessica realizes why they want her help. Fifteen years ago, Jessica's husband, Eddie Cal, was arrested, tried, and convicted for being a serial killer. These murders look just like a copycat of Eddie's murders. The FBI wants Jessica to talk to her ex-husband, who is sitting on death row, and see if he knows anything about the current murders.

This is the first book I've read by this author. The story pulled me in, but it was not without problems. The story was fast moving. There were no parts where I wanted to start skimming. I liked the inclusion of the courtroom drama in the last half of the book. I thought it was odd that throughout the book the author referred to heroine as "Yardley" instead of by her first name. And there were a couple times in the book where the cops/attorney turned off the recording devices during an interview. Can they do that?

Overall, this was a decent read with a good twist in the last couple of pages. I will continue with the series. My rating: 4 Stars.
