I really enjoyed all four stories in this Anthology. All were new to me, and while they were short stories they were complete in their storyline. I recommend it!

I liked three out of four of these stores. But when you get the book here, you don't mind skipping one.

I like to buy anthologies to get a taste of an author's voice before venturing into longer works. Since this one had four authors I've always wanted to try, it was an easy one to pick up. Three of the four stories make me hungry to seek out the author's other work, and for that, it definitely deserves its four stars.

First in line, Shayne's is the easiest to get drawn into, as the heroine is as clueless as the reader at the start of the story. It's action-packed and tightly written, and probably the most accessible of the four stories.

Davidson provides the fastest read, as well as the funniest. Some of the Buffy references started to get a little too much, but I haven't laughed that much at a shorter length work in a long time.

Angela Knight's "Warfem" was the most difficult story for me to get into, as I'm not usually as keen on sci-fi, especially futuristic. However, once I got past the dense world-building of the beginning, I discovered this one had by far the biggest emotional payoff, as well as my favorite hero of the entire anthology.

Ford's story completes the round-up, but for what it's worth, should have been left behind. The supermodel/spy combo was grating, as were a lot of the details. I mean, really, a Secret Agent's Handbook that she carries around like a paperback?

Still, considering I now have proof I absolutely need to read Shayne's, Davidson's, and Knight's longer works, the book is more than worth it.

I didn't like the story by Jacey Ford, but the others were well written and fun. I especially liked the sci-fi story, by Knight; it's amazing she could create such a tangible world in a short story.

In "The Bride Wore a .44", Maggie Shayne writes about a woman who is recovering after a bad accident that gave her amnesia, her overbearing mother, and her hot wedding planner.

In "The Incredible Misadventures of Boo and the Boy Blunder", MaryJanice Davidson starts with the note, "There are vampire hunters, and there are albinos, but usually they aren't one and the same."

In "Warfem", Angela Knight writes about members of a future Amazonian society who deal with honor, outside enemies, internal traitors, and hot romance.

In "Painkillers", Jacey Ford writes about swimsuit modeling and the CIA.

While I loved the concept, this didn't live up to the cover art for me and was not my favorite work by any of the authors, who can be very good. I'd rate it not too bad for a quick beach read.

This is a mindless read. It's not really well written and it's not going to make you think, but it's a nice quick read for a rainy day or an afternoon at the beach. Angela Knight's Warfem has an interesting plot and I think it's the best of the four.

Angela Knight tells all in her sexually charged stories. I collect them all, and fold the corners to re-read the steamy pages!

I can honestly say this is the first time I've read a book of short stories and really like every one in it. Of course some were a little better than others, but it could be because there was such a nice variety to the stories. All of these were by authors who I'll either be looking for in the future or have already read and was impressed by due to interesting and fun stories.

If you like silly fluff, then you'll like these stories. The only one that I would even consider recommending is the on by Davidson. That's because it is rather funny. But it could have been so much better. I guess maybe I expected too much from short stories, but I've read all these author's novels and have really liked most of them. I would say pass on this one. 1 1/2 stars (barely!)
