Interesting story. The CD set that I received has no audio break between CDs to let you know when to put in a new one, but that's minor. Learned alot about mummies...who knew?

I had never read or listened to any Tess Gerritsen books before this one, but will have to find some more! Just the right mix of mystery, history and suspense. Really enjoyed the narrator, also.

After a mummy of an unknown woman (dubbed Madam X)is discovered in the basement of a small, failing Boston museum, an initial CAT scan, attended by Maura Isles (medical examiner) finds some anomalies that proves she's not ancient afterall. Maura's friend, Homicide Detective Jame Rizzoli, is brought in to investigate. That's when the real fun begins for the reader. After another body turns up mummified, Jane follows leads to Texas, Maine, and around Massachusetts, but will she need to go to Egypt? Messages are found focusing on Archaeologist Josephine Pulcillo, who is so beautiful, no one can believe she's lying or has anything to do with the macabre deaths. Jane isn't fooled by her though, and with Jane's determination and honed detective skills, she closes in on the killer. A few twists are thrown in to keep the reader on their toes, as well as a surprising ending. All-in-all, a good read.
