Kate Quinton is in her eighties, still proud and spirited afer a long, vigorous, independent life. But in Failing health now, with financial resouces at the vanishing point, with one grown daughter unable to cope with her care and her other daughter unwilling to try, she must depeend on the government health-care bureaucracy for survival.
This is the store of what happens to Kate Quinton over the course of one year at the hands of doctors, nurses, social workers, home attendants, Medicaid officals, and her family. Some of it may come close to breaking your heart. But all of it will make you realize the value of Kate Quinton's life-- and thenobility of life itself.
