This is a commentary on the Book of Proverbs done in a novel & chapter style. Patsy is a wonderfully witty lady who's full of wit, wisdom & a whole lot of humor. And we sure need humor in today's age. patsy has wonderful analogies on everyday *stuff* that ties in extrememly well to God's Word in insightful ways. Great book - could read quickly.

In her book Kaleidoscope: Seeing Gods Wit & Wisdom in a Whole New Light, Patsy Clairmont compares the beauty of the images seen through a childs toy kaleidoscope to images seen in the scripture of Proverbs. She looks at 31 different verses out of Proverbs & writes a few pages on each. She ends each of these chapters with a list of questions to reflect on which she calls Bits & Pieces as well as a list of other Scripture verses that relate to the Proverb discussed which she calls Held to the Light.
I have never read anything by Patsy Clairmont before this. Although I could hear the humor in her voice coming through in her writing, I was not as pleased by this book as I hoped to be. I feel this way because she did not go very deep into the Proverbs she discussed. It was very surface level. It might be useful for someone looking for a starting point into the words of the Proverbs, but if anyone is wanting a more in-depth look at Proverbs, this would not be the first book I would suggest. However, the humor in her writing does lead me to give this book a 3 out of 5 stars.
