I love to read about ancient tribes that have made a difference, so I was looking forward to reading about the Jutes. I learned so many things about the Jutes that I didn't know. Although the Saxons, Angles, and Jutes were Germanic tribes, the Jutes originated from Denmark.

This is the fascinating story of how the Jutes began as mercenaries and became permanent immigrants. Although they did not have a written language before arriving in England, they soon began recording their history. Still, much is not known about these people. Overall rating = E.
