This book is a very difficult one to judge... You can't easily put it into catagories like good or bad. To be honest, I struggled through the book. I knew I had my hands on something special but I couldn't help but feel bored with a few parts. When I finished Junky I wasn't even sure I liked it, but now, about 6 months later, I find myself STILL thinking about certain passages and characters, and wanting to go back and read it again. Junky is a very important piece of literature that I strongly reccomend.

*For more heroin related/beat generation writing, try "Cain's Book" by Alexander Trocchi. It is, dare I say it, even better than Junky.
