This book is like a tapestry simultaneously woven from both ends, meeting in the middle, coming together with perfection and clarity. Two tales, seemingly unrelated are told in turn, then they begin to mesh and come together. You won't want to put it down, and you won't know how to feel about the main character until the end It's the story of love that sacrifices, love restored and redemption. You'll find yourself thinking about it after you finish it. I loved it. I still keep it fondly in my heart.

This is a very touching & beautifully written story of what real love is all about & what it means to truly be a father. It is written both in the 3rd person of everyone around the child but in first person for the child's thoughts. It's a book that teaches many truths that we can all learn from. I highly recommend this book.

This was my second Chris Fabry book and I was not disappointed. As the ending began to unfold I did find myself a little incredulous about how the story was going to have to settle out, but by the end I was a believer. ;^)
Based on the two Chris Fabry books I've read thus far I would describe him as a writer with a great story telling style who takes the reader to the brink of disbelief, but resolves his stories in a way that works - amazingly so.
I'm looking forward to reading more Fabry books.

Accustomed to living out of an RV and camping out in Wal-Mart parking lots, June Johnson is just a little surprised to find her face on a missing child poster. All of a sudden confronted with the reality that she is likely not June Bug, but Natalie Anne Edwards - that her birthday is not April 9, and maybe her dad is not her dad - June tries to unearth the truth in this coming-of-age meets mystery novel in the form of inspirational fiction.

LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. I couldn't put it down - it would make a great movie, but of course the book would still be better!
I loved this book! The mystery of it was so intriguing - how did this man end up with this little girl?? The characters were excellent - and it all wraps up nicely in the end. Made me laugh and made me cry. I highly recommend.
I'm not usually a reader of christian fiction, but the summary of the book sounded very interesting, so I decided to read it.
June Bug is a cute character and I felt myself hoping she would eventually get more out of her life than just riding around in a RV with Johnson after she saw her face on the missing person flier. The ending to me was somewhat predictable, but left you feeling satisfied that the story was finished just as it should've been! It was an overall good read and I'm glad I picked it up!

Novel about a little girl named June Bug who travels across the country in an RV with her father. All is well until she sees a missing poster with her picture on it. The rest of the story centers on how June Bug gets home.
There was good in this story. The usual preachy quality of Christian fiction was refreshingly absent, though the gospel did shine through. The characters were memorable and the story was well written.
But, my credulity was strained to the point of snapping by the end. I really don't want to spoil the ending, but let me say this. Why, oh why, when a character is driven to the point of desperation to do something and he keeps up the lie for years and years does he suddenly just give up? I didn't get it at all.
The ridiculous twists and turns made me not like this book as much as I would have otherwise.

This book literally left me speechless after I turned the final page. Tears were streaming down my face, which is a rarity for me with any novel. This book had such a tenderness to it, particularly with the love that a father has for a daughter. That struck a chord with me since I am so close to my father, and as a girl, looked up to him for everything. But it also dealt with the harsh realities of life, and how, despite the best-made plans, things just don't always turn out the way people want them to.
I loved the connections to Les Miserables. Knowing that there were similarities in the storylines, I was a little bit impatient for things to play out like I knew they did in Les Mis. Instead, the author just gave a little morsel every now and then, and before too long, I realized that he was retelling only part of the story of Les Mis, and sometimes, not sharing details as they happened, but rather in retrospect. This may make the story sound unappealing, but trust me, when those connections with Les Mis occurred, it was oh-so-powerful.

This book grabs you on the first page. Very good and interesting story line. I did find story line flaws here and there but overall thought provoking book with a hint of mystery.

While I thought the idea of the book was good, the writing style was rather bland for me. I felt the author was trying to make a story flow, but it felt too unbelievable to me and I was rather disappointed in the ending.

I found the story interesting. But it moved to slow and became predictable before the climax. To much time wasted on non essential characters and not enough developement of one main character and left it dangling in wind.
