When a young woman accuses star basketball player Ellis Adair of rape, the press breaks the story in a flurry of sensationalism that conceals the truth behind innuendo, shocking rumors, and vicious lies. So the New York Knicks summon DiMaggio, a former lawyer and onetime minor league baseball player who specializes in the world of sports.

Lupica is one of the very few journalists who have made the transition to credible novelist. Given his inside track on the sporting world and his ability to craft a page turning who-done-it, it is no surprise that Jump rings true in character and storyline.
