Patterson and Gross have written a story of a grizzled and dedicated FBI agent, who has finally obtained enough evidence to bring the head of a mafia crime organization to trial after many years. The book starts with jury selection and the introduction of Andi, a single mom actress who really does not want to serve on the jury. Twists and turns in the plot line continue through the end of the book, which retains interest in the continuing search for the mafioso. The authors' styles mix beautifully between the hard-nosed detetive's narratives and the beautiful descriptions of nature, as the main characters travel from New York to Israel to Chile. Read by Joe Mantenega, he gives just the right accents, the right inflections, the right nuance throughout. Engrossing and enjoyable!

This book renewed my faith in Mr Patterson. I was not a fan of his other series but when this audio book was given to me I thought I would give him another chance. I don't know if it was Joe Mantegna reading it (I love that guy) but my interest was held throughout. I loved the Sopranos series and this book is full of Mafia bad guys. I thought the ending was a bit weak and mushy but at least I wanted to listen to the end.

Wonderful audio book! I agree with the other reviewers - Joe Mantegna made the story believable. He is terrific. My drive to work was just not long enough. I looked forward to the commute as I could not wait to hear the next chapter. Great story that keeps your interest all the way to the end. Highly recommended.
