The book begins with Johnny driving into Reno in Cadillac with a license plate that sells "hell". He then stalks a man and woman into an alleyway where he then shoots the man "just to watch him die." I was hooked. The story does veer into biographical mode for the most part. This was well told and will enlighten those whose only knowledge of Cash comes from "Walk the Line." The artwork is stylish and far from pedestrian. The characters actually look like the the individuals without being a slave to inerrancy. Throughout the book are small phrases from the songs. Everything is done with a purpose. JC would approve.
