Awards

• “The Television Program Producer of the Year Award,” National Religious Broadcasters, 1992.

• Ankerberg was prominently involved in the 1987 PTL scandal by publicly exposing Jim Bakker's indiscretions.

• Ankerberg has recently been embroiled in controversy for his role in the writing of three books entitled 'The Truth About Islam And Jesus', 'The truth About Islam And Jihad' & 'The Truth About Islam And Women' in collaboration with Emir Caner.

• A Christian group known by outsiders as "The Local Church" levied a $136 million dollar lawsuit against Harvest House Publishers because of their inclusion in the book Encyclopedia of Cults and New Religions which Ankerberg co-authored. After several appeals, the plaintiff's claims were ultimately denied by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2007.
