I dont usually review books but I dont know if I was ever more disappointed in a book before. The female "heroine" if that is what you would call her seems to not be able to be without a man, any man, the story tries to show her as strong when all her decisions are based on her having to have a man. If one wont have her she'll take another, when that doesn't work out and the one still wont have her she'll go back home to be with an old boyfriend, what ever happened to fighting for what you want and not taking anything less.
A bit unrealistic, but romance strikes in a weird manner - with even her parents proving that love wins out.
Rafe de Bastitas is headed straight to hell. Hell Texas that is. He is seeking vengeance from the men who robbed him of his family-of everone he had ever truly loved. Ane he is prepared for just about anything. Excepr Charity Bell.
Windowed by the town preacher and denounced by her neighbors,Charity Bell is a marked woman. But beneath her misery and scorn is a lady of refinement- with a past of privilege that left her unprepared for life's cruel twists of fate. When Rafe happens upon her cottage at the edge of town, charity is frightened,alone-and giving bith to a fatherless son. Rafe can't help but reach ou to the forsaken young mother-and can't help feeling the spark of passion that quickly ignites between them,
Rafe and Charity have nothing in common except their painful pasts-and the promise of a love as wistful and wild as the Texas wind....
