Jude Murray is not happy with her life. So she leaves Chicago and moves to Ireland for a fresh start, intending to study Irish folklore. Soon she meets the Gallaghers and is quite taken with Aidan Gallagher, pub owner and storyteller.

I was really bored with the first 100 pages. This did not seem like a Nora Roberts book. The writing was too lyrical. Finally the story picked up and the characters became more interesting. I was satisfied with the ending of this book and am looking forward to the next book in the series. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

This is the first book in the Gallaghers of Ardmore trilogy. Roberts weaves Irish folklore into her stories in sucha a way that makes you almost believe it. Aidan and Jude Frances find their place in the 100-year-old spell that has been cast on a faerie prince and his true love.

A great summer read!

I thouroughly enjoyed this book! It sparks your imagination and makes you want to visit Ireland! This is the second trilogy I have read by Roberts and I enjoy how each book focuses on a seperate main character. And she builds up the characters so well that you feel like you know them and really care what happens to them.

I've read a lot of Nora Roberts but this trilogy is the only set of hers that has a permanent slot on my bookshelves. Though I'm not fond of supernatural elements the taste of Ireland she has managed to evoke in these books is too delicious for me to part with a one of them. In this one the eldest of three Irish siblings meets an American psychologist who is spending some time in the area indulging in what she considers a silly desire to write. He agrees to help her with a compilation of folk tales. A romance develops, of course, but the lifestyles of the two characters have nearly nothing in common and neither of them can imagine conforming to the other's ways. The course of love is, naturally, fraught with rocks but I can overlook a lot of formulaic story and supernatural nonsense for the smooth sweet taste of Ireland.

Nice story, I loved the imagery, and descriptions, made me feel as though I was seeing it for myself. I also enjoyed the mythical aspect.

I am not a huge fan of Nora Roberts but I picked this book up because it takes place in Ireland. She describes Ireland beautifully, so much so, I want to pick up and move there as well. There are parts where I believe she reaches just to add pages to the novel. But all in all, a good book. The characters are solid, witty, and fun. Its a great summer book to loose yourself in!

A Charming setting with deep characters that leaves you satisfied but wanting more. A great first in any series, but exactly what I was hoping for in this trilogy. Nora Roberts doesn't disappoint!

I love Nora Roberts and her trilogies, especially the ones with a mystical twist. I couldn't wait to get to the 2nd book.
