The setup to get Jewel and Eli married was very contrived, and Jewel's utter and total innocence was similarly contrived. By midpoint, I was hating the book and wondering what the point of so many scenes were. Dull read, and I'm hoping her other books are better. 1.5 stars

I loved this book. But then I just love Beverly Jenkins. I loved the characters and the humor and the way Eli decided to make his marriage work despite the circumstances of their marriage. I like how strong Jewel was and her pride.
