This is an extremely interesting and helpful history of Jerusalem and its long and complicated history. Armstrong has studied the three major faiths of the book, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. She presents the material fairly and thoroughly with her own viewpoint. This is a great book to read as preparation for a journey to the city itself.
