Good page-turner. Alice Vega is a bad-ass and proud of it. Only complaint is there are a few too many characters especially late in the story and it's a challenge to keep track of who's who.

Started out well, lagged in the middle, but picked up again in the end. The first book was better. That being said, I like the character of Vega so I will read the next one.

Loved the first book but this one fell short---way short

It's very slow and draggy with just too many words and pages that just don't mean anything and that is so boring, even when 'the action' starts it seems more like a convoluted scene and I'm getting tired of the 'cartels' in every story

I think the characters are good but this one just didn't hit the mark for me

The bodies of two unidentified girls have been found near San Diego. The medical examiner finds evidence that ties the girls together. The police and DEA hire Alice Vega, a private investigator known for finding missing persons. Along with her partner, former cop Max Caplan, Vega follows the leads. It soon becomes apparent that these girls are victims of human trafficking. Vega and Caplan are determined to find the traffickers and rescue the other girls in their possession.

This is the second book in the Alice Vega series. Vega is a mysterious person. We never get to know what makes her tick. Caplan works well with her and is willing to let her call the shots.

The first half of this book was following the leads to see where they went. The second half was a non-stop rollercoaster ride. The mystery was entertaining with some good twists. My rating: 4 Stars.
