When Billy Weathers dies, his will leaves everything to his business partner, Jackson Stennett. This includes his half of the ranch in Texas and a business back east. Since Jackson needs money to pay off Billy's overdue loans on the ranch, he travels to New York City to take a look at the business and collect some much-needed funds. When Jackson arrives, he is surprised to find that Billy had abandoned his family when he left New York many years ago. Billy's youngest daughter, Lindsay MacPhaull, has been trying to keep the family business afloat with the help of family friend Richard Patterson. When they learn that everything now belongs to Jackson, Richard has a stroke and can no longer help Lindsay. Now Lindsay needs to persuade Jackson not to sell the business out from under her and her siblings.

This was an appealing historical romance with a likeable hero and heroine. Jackson quickly realizes he can't leave Lindsay without a penny to her name. He looks at the books and quickly realizes that the business has been bleeding money for the last fifteen years, mostly due to a series of unfortunate accidents. But when another accident occurs and one of their buildings burns to the ground, Jackson realizes the accidents are sabotage.

I liked the story and enjoyed trying to figure out who was behind the sabotage. My rating: 4 Stars.
