This was my first book by Pronzini in his "Nameless Detective" series. At first, I was hesitant to get involved with a series whose title character didn't even have a name. How can you care about a character whose name you don't know? But it's so well written, you do care. What it boils down to is the essense of the private eye novel. Nothing more and nothing less.
LOVE Pronzini's "Nameless" series!
