We eat 3 meals a day that mark the beginning middle and end of our day, but for 100's of years Italians have eaten 2 small informal measl that come in between. This is teh 1st ever collection of recipes for these bite size treats known as spuntini (a mid morning snack) and merende (a mid afternoon snack), the soul food of Italy.
I liked this cookbook because these are quick and easy little meals. They can be eaten separately or put together to make a full meal. The are healthy and inexpensive. I also liked how authetic the recipes were and how they were great for small evening meals or lunch when I don't really feel like a big meal. It also gives a little history.
A very different and good cookbook. Great to add to a collection and excellent if you love real Italian food!
