This is an excellent well written book that is a true account. Andy Andrews is a very good story teller. Not only is the book an enjoyable read, it also is quite informative. The reader may learn a great deal about a part of WWII history that is not so well known to the general public --- German U2 submarines in US waters and closer! WWII is not the principal focus of the book however!

I could NOT put this book down. I LOVED the fact that I was getting a history lesson along with a TRUE love story!! WOW! I am really sorry to say that even though I normally post everything when I'm done with it, I will not ever be parting with my copy of this book. It is a real treasure to have!
I loved this book and the writer. I live close to Ono Island where Mr. Andrews lives and could relate to all of the names and places he refereed to in the book. I laughed and cried and relished learning history in such a personal way.

This is one of the best books that I have read! Not only is it informative about a part of our history that is not often acknowledged, but it is a story of of forgiveness, kindness, and the resilency of the human spirit. Long kept (condemning) secrets are finally revealed not to condemn but to reveal history and the truth. This is a page-turner and this story will stay with you long after you finish the book.

A beautifully written, wonderfully told story of love, loss, forgiveness, and the perseverence of the human spirit. Andy Andrews pulls you into the story and makes you experience his research in a way that touched my heart. I laughed, I cried, and found myself unable to put it down until I closed the back cover.
Wonderful book. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
