Non-fiction. Part travelogue, part science, by the neurologist who wrote Awakenings. Fascinating exploration of total colorblindness on Micronesia islands. Part two, a study of Parkinsonism-like desease on Guam.

Fascinating if you love the workings of the brain, yours or anybody else's.

Not your typical Oliver Sacks book. Instead of vignettes, this is really 2 books in one on the same topic: complete colorblindness. It's more of a travelogue than Sacks' other medical mystery books. I enjoyed the first half of the book, but the 2nd story left me pretty bored.

This was absolutely fascinating listening. I felt like I got to know the people of the island, their culture, their environment, and a few of the characters. I couldn't believe how fast this reading went and I will absolutely look for more of Oliver Sacks writings.
