A romance with a kid involved is always better. Sarah applied at the Honolulu agency - Befriend an Island Child - for a friend for her son. They sent out someone just like her ex-husband which was not the influence she wanted for her son. Her son becomes close to the fellow-Gabe, who volunteers because he believes in children and taking responsibility for his community. Takes Gabe a while to understand why Sarah reacts to him with mistrust but he and young Mike grow close and he falls in love with Sarah.
