If it had not been for a trip to Aruba, and belonging to an Aruba forum, I probably would not have had a desire to read the book or actually know about the book. The book was well written with well described characters and places. Some of the sex scenes were too descriptive for me and honestly I think the story could have been told without them. With that said though, the book was a very quick read for me, and I was entranced to the end. The twist at the conclusion was unexpected for me. I anxiously await for Daniel Putkowski's next book about Aruba, "Under a Blue Flag" to read more about the characters he developed first in this debut novel, "An Island Away".
