Just as good as all of Eva Ibbotsons books, this one is about mermaids, selkies and other creatures who live on their hidden island.

Wonderful fun book with characters that make you want them to be your friend! Shows that you don't have to be family to be a family and have a love that is real. A great read.

The aunts take care of injured sea creatures - both real and mythical - on their remote island, but they are getting old, and decide to kidnap some children and train them to take their places someday. I don't usually care for this kind of fantasy, but this one is very well done and has an environmental message as well.
