Unlikeable characters, slow story. Great idea for a book, but this version fell flat!

I really enjoyed this story because it was different from anything I've read before. It makes one think about the feelings all the involved persons might have that go thru a heart transplant. That would include donor, donor's family, recipient and recipient's family and maybe even friends. This book made me think while enjoying a good read.

Very thought-provoking but I didn't enjoy as much as I thought I would- something somewhere was missing for me.

Originally thought this would be similar to movie Return to Me, but there is no love story between the characters. Instead it explores each person's perspective (husband of donor, the heart transplant recipient) and other minor characters involved and weaves a story of what it means to be connected through the transplant. Not sure if in real life, people would want to meet the donors. I found it interesting although one piece toward the end with the mother in law / son in law relationship was a bit strange to me. Other than that I expected it to have more of a dramatic storyline.
