Emille Richards writes what I call "a Woman's Book", but I was surprised and extremely pleased with this excellent story which is well written with an intricate plot, a page turner in the true tense. Its a fascinating tale of the tangled race relations and complex history of Louisiana. And although its a romance novel, it is not porny.

Iron Lace is one of the first Emilie Richards books that I have read. Wow! I loved it. Great story line that keeps you right with the story. I could picture the characters and scenery vividly in my mind. The civil rights line of the story was right on and the story was smoothly written. Very interesting book and cast of characters.

Excellent story.
Loved this book - can't wait to read Rising Tides
Iron Lace is a break-your-heart love story
I absolutely LOVED this book! However, be aware that there is a second book. I didn't know that when I picked the book up at a book sale, so I was kind of disappointed when I finished and didn't have the second book. The second book is called Rising Tides, so if you are a fast reader (like myself) you might want to have the second one on hand.
This is a gripping story. Being from Louisiana, I loved the setting and the descriptions of the time period. A page turner!
Great book! Very beautifully written with a complex and interesting story of love, hate, and redemption. Couldn't stop reading it.
Aurore Gerritsen watched her lover kill her father. It was just one act of violence in a dramatic chain of events. Aurore seeks out Phillip Benedict to disclose her story. He's intrigued, but wonders why the matriarch of a prominent white family would choose to confess her sins to an outspoken black journalist. Finally Phillip agrees. But nothing prepares him for the far-reaching impact of Aurore's shocking revelations.
Well read
Breathtaking. A real page turner.
