This is a great collection of shorts, each author has her own style,it's little juicy tidbits.
Some of my all=time favorite Irish authors in this collection - Maeve Binchy, Marian Keyes - a wonderful collection and fun chic lit read, Irish-style!
The ultimate feel-good book, funny, ironic, thrilling and provocative.

Irish short stories.
Multiple short stories som better than others - easy read - great descriptive writing
Irish Girls About Town is an anthology of sixteen short stories by Irish women writers. Given the title of the book, and the fact that the cover is mostly a bright pink, you might think that most of the stories in this book would be chick lit. Well some are, and some aren't. It's a delightful mix of chick lit featuring young Irish women and women's literature featuring more mature Irish women. Some of my favorite stories were:
The Twenty-Eighth Day by Catherine Barry - A hilarious rendition of what one woman's family suffers as she suffers through a full day of full blown PMT (which is the Irish term for PMS).
Moving by Colette Caddle - A married woman who gave up a married lover and "settled" for a man she only liked finds out that maybe regrets are all they are cracked up to be.
The Ring Cycle by Martina Devlin - I loved this one! A divorced woman wants to get rid of her wedding ring, but can't bring herself to throw it in the trash. She finds it's much harder than she thought it would be to get the ring out of her house.
And thirteen other stories. Some made me howl with laughter. Some made me cry. Some had great twists at the end. Some just made me go "Huh?". Like most anthologies, it was a mixed bag. But with this many stories in the book, you know that there are bound to be SOME that you love.
