A feel-good story about a country doctor and the people he meets on a daily basis. A story about friendship and good neighbors. I enjoyed it tremendously and can't wait to read the next one.

"Irish Country Village" is the follow up to "Irish Country Doctor". Both books were very enjoyable reading. Barry Laverty is a new doctor, working with an eccentric and much loved small town doctor, Fingal O'Reilly. Dr. Laverty has much to learn about small town medicine and the characters of the town are fun to read and you become quite attached to them. These books run along the lines of the "Lumby" or "Mitford" Series of books - great main characters and quirky neighbors - fun reads!

I liked the book very much, better than the first book. You don't need to have read the first book in the series to enjoy this one. The story lines & characters kept me engaged and it was quite a pleasant read.
As I said in my review of the 1st book in the series, it isn't "All Creatures Great and Small" but for me an excellent substitute. A bit too much sex but the book takes place during the swinging 60's, mini-skirts & the Beatles so the narrative is going to be more explicit than in the setting of our beloved Vet in post-war Yorkshire.
