Light-weight, fun adventure manga. Kagome, a modern-day high school girl, is transported back in time. She discovers that she's the reincarnation of a powerful magician and that it is her destiny to protect the magical Jewel of Four Souls, the power of which a number of demons and bad men want for themselves. Kagome is a little scatter-brained and forgetful and has no knowledge of how to fight or protect herself. So, she is paired with the half-demon Inuyasha, who it so happens wants the jewel for himself. In standard high-school book fashion, Kagome and Inuyasha trade insults and flirts as they go about their adventures. Not a life-changer, but a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.

This series grabbed me and drew me in from the very first page. It has everything I like: great characters, a well-drawn fantasy setting, suspense and horror, a touch of humor and a spunky girl heroine!
