Nice funny read from Jill Shalvis. Good chemistry between the two main principals but the hero's constant backing off made this book just good, not great.

I'll second Sherri's opinion of the book. The characters were all likeable, the setting was nice, and there were some funny moments, but I wish the hero had gotten his act together sooner. The back and forth thing got a bit wearing.

Introducing the Wilder brothers. They are hunky, smart, sensitive, yet scarred. The heroines are brainy and beautiful but have issues as well. So far, pretty typical of a romance. However, Shalvis makes sure her characters and their relationship develop at a realistic pace. They grow together by being honest and caring. Throw in physical relationships that are hot but not rushed (the characters don't jump into bed at first sight) for the perfect blend.
I love a book when the situations could be real, the emotions are plausible, and the outcome believable. Shalvis does all this.
And the writing is excellentâno grammatical or spelling mistakes to distract. References to modern events and culture keep it even more true and relatable.
Other reviewers mention the hero's waffling about the relationship. Well, yet. But that is treated in a realistic fashion, and the heroine's responses are honest and address those concerns. All in all I highly recommend it. I will search out anything written by her (loved "Get a Clue" and "Instant Gratification" by her, too).

I really enjoyed this first in the series. They can be read out of order, since I happened to read T.J's story first. Very modern, liked it that the heroine was regular, not a "raving" beauty but her outlook on life was what drew the hero to her.
