This is a more police procedural than some of his other works but he still instills the suspense needed to carry it to conclusion. Whether it is the author or the translator, the phrasing and language make this a book that brings pleasure.

I am a fan of the Nordic mysteries and Nesser is a good writer. I have read books 1 to 4 and hope to complete the series. I very much like Van Veeteren over some of the other detectives. I was a little taken back by the subject matter (cults) but it was a very good read.
