Easy book to read. Interesting for the most part but didn't let you in on any magnificent great hidden secrets. Mostly told of the nuances of past presidents and their immediate family members. Let you know how some of the staff felt about these members of the White House also.

I really liked this book. Of course anything that Ronald Kessler writes is usually excellent. It gives the lowdown on a lot of the presidents, their staffs and how they run the White House. Quite an eye opener I must say. Also details about how they spent our money, their expensive trips, how they treated their employees etc. They all had their quirks, and some were lacking in morals, but a very informative book.

When I first started reading this book I thought it was gossip about the first families, but that was okay because it was details that I didn't know. As I continued reading it became apparent that the book was much more substantial than that. Starting with Kennedy and going through Clinton's first term, it was very informative with regard to personalities, marriages, etc. A lot of insight into the policies of each president as well as how the presidency changed them. In some, the changes were more profound than others, but most were highly arrogant and keeping campaign promises were of no importance. I really enjoyed this book -- it was hard to put down.
