Well written tale that evokes a place and time in rural England. A mix of ghost story and murder mystery that kept my interest right up until near the end when I thought the plot-line sort of fell in upon itself. Not as good as The haunting of Maddy Clare, which stuck more to the haunting plot. (Could have benefited from a map of the area.)

Jillian is a college student and in the middle of her semester, she gets word that he uncle has died. She has to leave to identify her uncle's body and pack up his things. Her uncle, Toby, was a ghost hunter and she had found memories of spending time with his as a child. This biggest thing, was his death an accident? Enter Drew, a Scotland Yard detective.
I had a HARD time getting into this. I was so bored and kept putting this down after a chapter or 2. It did pick up about 1/2 through. Nice twist with paternity and with the end. I also liked the author's note.
